Aya Salama

Biography: Aya is a senior Data and Applied Scientist at Microsoft working on integrating state-of-the-art natural language processing models into Microsoft products as part of the Azure Cognitive Services team. Before joining Microsoft, Aya's experience spanned several domains from bioinformatics to computer vision to EdTech through her roles in industry, start-ups, and academic research.
She obtained a Master's in computer science from the University of Cambridge, UK, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
Aya is also an active contributor in the tech community through several initiatives most prominent of which is the Deep Learning Indaba which aims at building technology expertise in communities across our African continent.
